Virtual Facilitated Group Supervision – SIGN UP HERE

Interested in joining other spiritual directors for monthly Group Supervision facilitated by Maria Tattu Bowen?  You’ve come to the right place.

Next Step: email margaret@togetherinthemystery.org and let her know of your interest.  Once we have at least six people we will begin.  Scheduling needs will be accommodated by taking a calendar poll of interested members and setting a mutually convenient time.

When Maria had an opportunity to offer an SDI webinar recently entitled “Reimagining Supervision” (http://www.sdiworld.org/educational-event/sdi-webinar-reimaging-supervision) she learned in the Q & A that participants were having trouble finding Facilitated Group Supervision in their locations.  This felt like the call of the Spirit to do something she’d been considering for a while: to offer facilitated group supervision via streaming video.

Please join us if you are looking to meet other spiritual directors for group supervision facilitated by Maria Tattu Bowen, an experienced supervisor (who also trains spiritual directors and supervisors).

Format of Group

  • Groups will have a minimum of 5 people, maximum of 6.
  • They will meet once a month for 90 minutes
  • This facilitated group supervision will include a contemplative place and the cultivation of a felt sense of compassion.  In addition, it will feature
    • Meditative time together with a check in (related to your ministry of spiritual direction) from each group member, each time
    • the presentation of a case at a contemplative pace in which all participants have an opportunity to respond to what they’re hearing
    • encouragement to accompany with compassion those parts of us that get triggered as we offer spiritual direction and receive supervision
    • opportunities for every group member to ask consultation questions about their own practice every time.
    • an opportunity for the presenter from the previous month to report in about how that supervision experience has settled over time.
  • What it’s like to meet virtually
    • We will all be able to see and hear one another at all times, though people who aren’t talking will mute themselves to keep noise to a mininum.
    • I’ve just taught a 4-week class this way and feel really pleased by the possibilities it offers.
    • We will offer free technology training to get you used to the process before we begin.

    • After initial sign-ups, we will be a closed group, receiving no new members
    • We will discern after 6 months whether we’d like to continue to move forward together.
    • At that six month mark, we will also discern whether or not we’d like to add new group members
  • Cost:  $30/session ($180 for six months)
  • Technology:  what you’ll need in order to participate
    • a free Zoom account at zoom.us
    • an internet connection
    • a computer (or an internet-connected phone)

    • headphones you can plug in to your computer or phone
    • Note:  we will schedule time for a short technology meeting sometime prior to our first group supervision.  That we we can get everyone up to speed on Zoom so that technology won’t interrupt our process.
