Rebecca Bradburn Langer, D.Min.
Pictured here with her grandson Sam, Rebecca co-edited with Mary Rose Bumpus of Seattle University a Spiritual Directors International book on supervision entitled Supervision of Spiritual Directors: Engaging in Holy Mystery (Morehouse, 2005). She has served as a spiritual director and retreat leader for more than twenty years and a supervisor and trainer of spiritual directors for more than fifteen. Rebecca is a past director of the Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction program at San Francisco Theological Seminary, which is where she earned her D.Min. Currently, she manages the supervision component of that program and serves as a validated minister of spiritual direction and supervision for the Presbytery of St. Augustine in Jacksonville, Florida. Maria Tattu Bowen, Ph.D.
After earning her Ph.D. in Christian Spirituality at the Graduate Theological Union where she wrote on the poet Czeslav Milosz, Maria served on the theology faculty at the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon. She contributed an essay entitled "Dimensions of the Human Person in Relationship" to Rebecca's book on supervision and one called "Contemplative Listening in Spiritual Direction" to Sacred is the Call: Formation and Transformation in Spiritual Direction, a book edited by Suzanne Buckley of Mercy Center Burlingame (Crossroad, 2005). Like Rebecca, Maria has more than twenty years' experience as a spiritual director and retreat leader and more than fifteen as a supervisor and trainer of spiritual directors. She continues to write and teach, serving as a faculty member for the Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction Program at San Francisco Theological Seminary, in addition to practicing spiritual direction and supervision.
